The conventional detached stronghold typology of the library is challenged through a series of void operations that produce closed, semi closed, and open space. Program is inserted into the appropriate spatial conditions, and the dissolution of boundaries between inside and outside is further achieved through a structural skin that both differentiates space and provides internal library shelving.
